Leon Viljoen has been in senior management positions for over 20 years. He started his career in 1986 at Brown Boveri Technologies as a Project Manager. He quickly worked his way up through the ranks, moving over to sales and marketing before becoming a General Manager within the Powertech group in 2000. In 2002, he became the Managing Director of Desta Power Matla and then became the Chief Executive of Powertech Transformers and Director of Powertech in 2006. He became the Chief Operating Officer of Powertech in 2012. In 2013, he became the Chief Executive Officer of ABB Southern Africa until the end of 2019. He started consulting for various companies on various business aspects ranging from strategy to manufacturing in 2020.

Leon brings an in-depth knowledge of change management as well as improving processes, and specifically improvements within manufacturing, He has vast knowledge of the power and energy sectors in Southern Africa.

Leon has a B.Eng. (Electrical & Electronic) from RAU and an MBA from Henley Management College in the UK.
